Jasper Mountain’s mission is to bring hope and healing to traumatized children and their families, and to enhance the physical, emotional and spiritual health of its clients and staff.

WHO WE ARE

JASPER MOUNTAIN IS A UNIQUE ORGANIZATION

Jasper Mountain is a treatment family, and a place of hope for children and parents who search for answers.  Since 1982, we have been growing and learning along with the children and families we serve.  Jasper Mountain is many things but there is nothing quite like it anywhere!

Jasper Mountain provides a continuum of programs that meets the needs of emotionally disturbed children and their families. Services include an intensive residential treatment program with a therapeutic school, a short-term residential center, treatment foster care program, community based program and crisis response services.

ONCE UPON A MOUNTAIN

The organization was the focus of a full length, award winning, Australian documentary Once Upon A Mountain in 2013 telling the story of Jasper Mountain. 

WHAT WE DO

WE SUPPORT NOT JUDGE.

We develop a road map to healing and hope when one is needed.  We live what we recommend to others.  We do not shy away from the most difficult challenges, we embrace them.  We work to bring healing one child and one family at a time.  Our success rate is only as good as the progress the next child makes.  We never give up.

With a primary mission to offer help and hope for children and families, Jasper Mountain has developed specializations in areas such as attachment issues, sexual reactivity, anti-social and violent behavior and treating severe trauma. We have experience with adopted children including foreign adoptions and subsequent challenges for parents. All programs are guided by the agency philosophy to treat the intellectual, emotional and spiritual needs of the child – thus treating the whole person. Jasper Mountain currently works with children from around the United States and is available for private placements.

OUR HISTORY

Jasper Mountain Center accepted its first child in 1982. From the beginning, the children who came to live at Jasper Mountain talked of physical and sexual abuse. The common denominator and the focus of the program has remained treating the young, abused child in a family setting, not an institution.
